On Thursday, June 24 ALF, educational publisher Nation/Egmont and the Thai Border Police jointly announced their "Open the World of Knowledge to Youth" project at the Border Patrol Police Bureau in Bangkok. The Thai Border Police administer the lesser-developed schools along the border regions which fall outside of the regular government school system.  The project distributes to 136 remote border schools sets of 230 carefully-selected Thai and English books via the Thai Border Police.  ALF funded the entire project while Nation/Egmont Group provided Thai books at a heavy discount, and Books for Thailand provided an equal number of English-language books free.
